I call them ladybugs, and I love them too! I found that beauty on a leaf of my fig tree. I love how the sky and my phone are reflected in her shiny exterior.
I have over 5 dozen green tomatoes of 6 different varieties, not counting the cherries, currently growing and ripening. I've never had such good luck with tomatoes, and I'm thrilled that the soil here seems to be very good! Did you notice the basil plant in one of the photos? Tomatoes with basil and mozz will be WONDERFUL!
I've heard marigolds repel all sorts of insects and pests so that's why I planted a living mulch of them. The red French marigolds I started from seed, and they're just now starting to bloom. :)
I'm frankly shocked at how lush and healthy everything seems to be so far. This is my first year planting anything at the "new" house. The soil must be pretty decent!
