It's all about the candy!

Last week I went ahead and bought Halloween candy while on a big monthly shopping trip to Sam's. I decided on a large bag of assorted chocolate "fun size" bars.

Today at work I decided I should have some non-chocolate candy to offer, so I stopped at a Dollar Store on the way home and bought Nerds Gummies (they didn't have the regular ones, which I would have preferred), Laffy Taffy, Sunburst chewies, and miniature Chick-O-Sticks. Remember those?

Then I made up about a dozen treat bags full of a little of everything for the children I know, including four at school. My little best buddies. :)  Tomorrow night Marla will bring Carsen and a friend of hers, and our neighbors across the street will be coming by with their toddler and three nieces and nephews. I have treat bags made for all of them, plus plenty of leftover candy for any other trick-or-treaters that may show up. We always have a few!

  1. I have a big bag of variety candy ready for trick or treaters here. I get to take 2 of my grandsons out so my oldest son will stay at the house to hand out the treats. Should be nice weather this year for us!

  2. I’m coming to your house for the good treats! I’m not big on Halloween but we had neighbors in Fuengirola with two daughters who came to our apartment every year and I made sure to have a special Halloween treat for them both. I miss them!

    1. I love treating kids on Halloween. I figure it's my responsibility after so many childhood years of enjoying the generosity of adults! :)

  4. Yes I remember Chick-O-Sticks. Pretty young women with very thin legs.

    1. I'll have to get rid of it all ASAP. I certainly don't need it around the house adding to my weight woes! lol

  6. I love your candy bags!!!! I did the same thing, a little mix of various candies, and a $5 bill. I only get about 12 kids.

A Happy Samhain to you dear! 💀🎃👻👹🦇🎃👻

  7. Our trick or treat was tonight. It was 45 degrees, raining and windy. I think we all have about 60% of our candy left.

    1. Tonight is supposed to get down to 39 degrees here! That's very cold for us this early in the season.

  9. I have fun size Kit Kats and Milky Ways but will only have one type in my bowl at a time. I've found that when kids have a choice, it can be trickier. I also hand them a candy--by the end of the night, I'm giving two or three because I love Kit Kats. Too much!

    1. I made up the bags for the kids I know, and anyone else who stops by (which shouldn't be more than a dozen, tops) will just get a big mixed handful.

  10. I had completely forgotten that it was Halloween. No children around here, so no sweets to buy, but I shall have to put a carved Pumpkin in the window. Thank for reminding me!!!

  11. We never get trick-or-treaters, but I bought a bag of similar mini-chocolate bars just in case. I figured I can always put them in the staff lounge at work if they don't get claimed by kids!

    1. I, too, will be taking leftovers to work next week. Our staff falls on candy/treats/food like packs of starving wolves--it won't last a day.

  12. You are well prepared! I'd go for the Reese's - I'm a peanut butter lover of the first order :-D

    1. The Reese's are my favorite, too, followed closely by the tiny Heath bars!

  13. We never get trick-or-treaters though I think it's because our house is at the end of a long dark gravel driveway ...

  14. I have candy and we will sit outside on the porch waiting to greet the kiddies. We don't get a lot of trick-or-treaters, but enough to satisfy my love of Halloween.
