Saturday Night

What's a typical Saturday night for you?

For me tonight is a standard example.

Gregg and I are at home with the pets. I'm having a gin and tonic with lime while I cook our dinner, which happens to be Mexican food. Ground beef with tomatoes and taco spices, corn tortillas, guacamole and lettuce, shredded soft white cheese and sour cream. Fresh pineapple for dessert. There's '80s music playing on my TV's Pandora station while I chop and peel, stir and sip. Gems like this:

After we eat there will be a good walk for the dogs. The weather had been gorgeous, warm and spring like, and it will be a great night for a walk around the neighborhood.

Then I'll have another drink or two, and we'll likely watch a movie before heading to bed. Not an exciting Saturday night, maybe, but I feel wonderfully content all the same.

Have a good one, everyone!

  1. Vodka tonic for me. Also, leftover enchiladas.
So...in a way, we are living parallel lives.

    1. It's true! Except I much prefer gin to vodka, in all cases.

  2. We were coming home from visiting a friend this afternoon. Instead of the usual supper and Netflix, I pulled into a local restaurant. Now Netflix.

    1. Getting my husband to eat in a restaurant is like pulling teeth. He doesn't like eating out at all. It's ok though...I eat out with friends regularly.

  3. I've been buying Pineapples recently; I love them.

A very good friend of mine was Bryan Ferry's 'Girl Friday'; she organised his life for about 30 years. He (apparently) was useless at doing it for himself.

    1. We just finished watching the final season of Bates Motel on Netflix. It was really good! Loads of fun, and not really very scary even for a wimp like me! :)

  8. A quiet night in can be so nice, I find. Your food sounds yummy! O.K. and I had gin tonics, too, after we returned from the village band's annual general meeting. Elections were held and deceased members were commemorated, current active members were honoured and reports given about last year's activities.

  10. I did some online reading last night to catch up on the news. I fell asleep with the laptop in front of me. I struggled to wake up enough to take the dogs out and go to bed. I was tempted to spend the night in the chair where I sat.

    Love,
    Janie
