In contrast, i have just been hearing about the awful events on Sunday night at the Lee Correctional Facility close to Florence. Some flowers are needed there.
Wow...I can't believe you heard about that. Lee Correctional is a terrible place, not only does it house the worst criminals (it's a maximum security prison so most of the offenders are violent) but it's dangerously understaffed. Inmates have died there before, and a guard was taken hostage by inmates one time. Of course this latest incident is especially horrific...no matter crimes these men had committed, they didn't deserve to die in prison. And you couldn't pay me enough to work there--talk about a dangerous job.
We'll be way ahead of you on the arrival of full-blown summer, too. I'll be complaining about the heat while you're still enjoying iris and other springtime delights. :)

Oh, yes, your back yard is far south of mine. Great pictures.

You are way ahead of us; we're still on Daffs and Tulips!
Way ahead of Oregon, the tulips are blooming just now.
Th best iris colours - purple and gold. Lovely.

Proof that winter does end!
Irises, beautiful.
Ooh! Is it REALLY spring?!?
I'm jealous you can grow bearded iris! I'm too far south.
Spring Irises are a beautiful sight to see.

I love the golden afternoon sunlight shining on the purple iris!
I love spring! I'm glad we're done with snow and ice. After Easter that just seems ridiculous!

Your summer is probably way better than ours!
And I didn't have to plant them and I don't do anything to care for them! They just do their thing, year after year.
It does! It really, really does!
I love them!
It IS! Isn't it great?
I'm sure there are lots of things you can grow (like citrus trees, for instance) that I would love to have!
They really are delightful. :)
