It's always something

It's been a rough week. I've managed to both catch a cold and pull some muscles in my lower back at the same time. How lucky can you get! I am not a happy camper!

I've taken two at-home covid tests since that's definitely going around again, but they've both been negative. I guess that's something to be grateful for. At work I've stayed holed up in my office because a terrible stomach virus has been spreading like wildfire through the school. Children are throwing up and having diarrhea left and right, and I don't need that to add to my woes! Several staff members have colds and I suppose that's how I caught mine. Schools are just crawling with germs. I've kept Lysol spray and disinfecting wipes handy and only venture outside my office when absolutely necessary.

I hope I feel better by the weekend. Tomorrow is my dear husband's birthday, and I'd like to make him a cake and a special meal, but if I'm still feeling this way then I'll have to put it off. I ordered him a lot of new clothes online last week, so he'll have gifts, at least.

How's your week going?

  1. Lordy, it is that time of year. My Hubs just went through that gastric stuff, took him weeks to get over it! I think no matter what we do to stay well, one of the various and sundry bugs will get us. With so many kids around you, OMG, I would feel like I had to wear a HazMat suit! So far, I've stayed well, even though I've been on an airplane, possibly the second worst germy place next to a school! I hope you get well quickly!

    1. We're seeing a constant stream of vomiting students going to the nurse. It's really contagious, whatever it is.

  2. I have constant post-nasal drip, probably because the temps are still warm. Be careful, there is a lot of Covid going around. Does Lysol help with that? And congrats to Greg. Ain't it great that he's a Scorpio!

    1. Yes! When I started seeing him, a friend warned me, "Watch out! Scorpios think with their genitals!" I should have told her that was part of his appeal! LOL

  3. There is something, not COVID,going around. I had it a couple of weeks ago and Carlos has it now.
Feel better and stay away from puking pooping students!

    1. On Monday one little girl started projectile vomiting and ran down the hall with vomit going everywhere and poop streaming from both pants legs. The classroom, hallway, office area, and nurse's office all had to be cleaned and disinfected. I felt so sorry for her! That poor child is going to remember that for the rest of her life, I'll bet. Our whole kindergarten hall is going g down en masse. Whatever this virus is, it's BAD. staying locked away!

  4. Aw, poor you!! It's not nice when annoying symptoms and back pain combine to knock you out. Hopefully, you'll manage to escape the tummy bug...!
And hopefully, you'll be able to celebrate Gregg's birthday in style with your great cooking. Not that he'd have a problem with you postponing his special meal, I am sure of that.

  8. The illnesses you describe as going around your school sound exactly like what August and Levon had this week. Levon the gastric stuff and August the cold thing. And I think I've caught the cold thing now.
Kids. Little bags of salty germs. Still we love them.
Happy birthday to your darling man. And please feel better soon. I know you're miserable.

  10. Unfortunatly schools are riddled with bugs for this and that especially at this time of year as winter begins to creep near. Hope you are better enough to help celebrate your husband's birthday,

  11. 'It never rains but pours', as they say: covid symptoms, cold symptoms, stomach virus etc...
Be well, and happily celebrate your husband's birthday!

  12. I love kids, but they are little germ incubators. That little cubby hole of yours sounds like the safest place you can be. Happy birthday, Gregg!

  13. It's nicer to be that ever healthy person in the center of roiling germs than one who uses them all up.

  14. When I was teaching we were made to have Flu Jabs, so as not to infect the children. In fact I think it was the children who should have had all their jabs to protect US.

  15. I am reading this six days after you posted it. I hope you are feeling a lot better and that Gregg managed to have something of a birthday celebration - strutting around in his new clothes like a peacock.
