A cold front blew in last night and the temperature this morning is only a bit above freezing. I took these pictures late yesterday afternoon on my way to a friend's house. If you look closely at the bottom photo you'll see that it's a cotton field below the cold, wild sky.

DeleteClose to freezing here last night, too, and still chilly during the day, but the sun is back and I enjoyed a walk in glorious golden autumn light at my lunch break today.

DeleteThanks for pointing out that that is a cotton field, I am always interested in what grows and what it looks like in other lands. I would guess that frost in cotton fields is rare and would not be good, so I hope the temperature does not drop below freezing. Good photographs. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteFrost never seems to hurt cotton plants, and the cotton is always harvested this time of year. I think the field in my picture had already been harvested once (by machine of course) and the cotton you see there is what's left over.

DeleteWe got the wild weather last night also. However, it only lasted till 9 am and the sun came out and the day got warmer. It is almost November so colder days will be upon us soon.
