I made Scotch Eggs for the first time today and they are delicious! I found a video by "Chef John" over at Food Wishes and used his recipe and method. They turned out perfect! Look what I did, John Gray!
Mmm, mmm, mmm, MMM!!!!!!!!!!! Scrummy!!!
Happy Easter, everyone!

Happy Easter Janie Junebug!
DeleteOh my god. I want to try that.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could give you one of the leftovers!
Deletethat does look good!! I have always wanted to try this,,
ReplyDeleteIf you go to the link I provided, and search for Scotch Eggs, you'll find chef John's YouTube tutorial. It's not that hard!
DeleteI've made them, too. Can't believe John goes to Waitrose, or the corner petrol station for his.
ReplyDeleteThe Waitrose ones are probably good and a lot less trouble!
DeleteWow, those look delicious. BTW your photo of the Southwestern corn salad with lime chili dressing inspired me to make that for our Easter feast. My sons said let's have it again for our next family get together. Yum.
ReplyDeleteThat made my day, Terra! I'm so glad I inspired you to create a delicious dish for your family! I'm sure it was absolutely delicious. Happy Easter, Terra!
DeleteWell done Jennifer! It is especially commendable that you managed to retain some softness in the yolks. I can see a successful dining empire emerging from Florence SC - "Jennifer's Scotch Eggs". Watch out Burger King!
ReplyDeleteThank you Neil! I was very careful with each step and was thrilled that they turned out so well!
DeleteWe used to make them a few decades ago but deep fried them in deep fryer. It was messy and not exactly healthy, so the deep fryer disappeared.
ReplyDeleteThey're certainly not health food, but special occasions call for indulgence!
DeleteThey look perfect. I bet they tasted as good too!
ReplyDeleteThey were delicious! I worked hard to get them just right!
DeleteSo very fun, you did it !
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Clever you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Jennifer. They look so good and perfect.(I've seen them only on John's blog...).
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm just going to have to take your word and John's on the Scotch eggs! Congratulations on your success.
ReplyDeleteI want one now.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm!! Good job I have just finished a delicious meal cooked by O.K., otherwise your scotch eggs would make me drool. Happy Easter, Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteIf I would come to this city again, I would be all over these Los Angeles event venues. We ordered Spinach artichoke dip at the server's suggestion and it was absolutely delicious.
