More rain

It's Friday! It's been another long (and stressful) week at work. I'll have to blog about some of the craziness later this weekend, but there's still one more day to get through. So far we've had the police called to our school twice this week, a "Showcase of Schools" open for the public to come visit, a vote on Tuesday for a contentious local referendum (our school is a polling place so the band room had to be blocked off from the rest of the school) that failed to pass...so it's been another wild and crazy week. Everyone is ready for a rest.

I would love to have some sunshine this weekend, but no, it's going to rain....again! It's done nothing but rain every single weekend all winter. Sometimes the sun will peek out for an hour or two but always on weekdays, it seems. I'm so tired of gray skies and rain! I've started taking vitamin D supplements again to try to get some energy back. I'd rather get it the old fashioned way.

Well, off to the jungle  middle school. Wish me luck. Here's hoping that the drama stays at a minimum and we can end this week with some kind of calm!

Have a great day, everyone!

  1. This post, and especially the previous one, remind me why I'm retired. I remember those school days all too well.

    1. It can definitely be stressful, but at least no one is ever bored. It's just been extra crazy since our winter break...every is ready for spring break!

    2. Did you say it three times to add emphasis? And who is every?

    3. I'm not sure how that happened! I was answering on my phone in my car prior to coming inside.

  2. Now that is not much fun. I am trying to remember, and I may have it wrong, but you generally like your job, don't you?

We could use more and more rain, so the days on end with no sunshine cannot be complained about here. But I would if we weren't just out of a 6 year drought.

    Happy Friday!

  3. I just looked and we're supposed to get rain most of today, too. I can't resent it. Every drop that makes it to the aquifer is a good, good thing in my opinion. Then again, we haven't had flood conditions.
TGIF, right? I love imagining you in your position at a middle school. And how can it not be chaos? Isn't the soul of a middle schooler by definition a place of chaos? Combine them all together...oh my. Amazing any of us survive those days of our childhoods.

    1. I walked in to see a kid with a big swollen black eye sitting with his parents waiting on the principal. We've had lots of fights this week.

  4. We had eight days of gorgeous sunshine over here in England but this weekend is scheduled to be grey and unsettled. Good weather lifts spirits.

  8. In all my days as both pupil and teacher, I never experienced police having to attend. What on earth happened?
