Back to it

Well, that was quick! I go back to work this morning. A week off really flies by, but it was a nice break.

I was a bit too ambitious in my plans. I didn't get half of what I planned to do, done, but it was a really nice break anyway. I took lots of walks with the dogs (enjoying the first really chilly weather of the year), did some cooking and baking, read a lot, and then finished up the weekend by binge watching The Great British Bake-Off. How I love that show! And yesterday Gregg helped me give my car a very good cleaning, which it was in desperate need of. It's going to feel good to drive a shiny clean car to work this morning.

It's also great to report that I have zero dread about going back to work today. I really don't mind going back at all! Would I rather be at home for another week? Of course! But to have no anxiety about going back is wonderful. So far, this is the most stress-free job I've ever had. I continue to be thankful for it.

Have a great day, everyone!

  1. Great news about the lack of work anxiety. SO happy for you. At our house, getting even HALF our plans done would be a miracle.

  2. It's nice working at a place you enjoy. I do, though, yeah, an extra week off would always be welcome!

  3. I am so glad to read that, Jennifer.
Yes, a week is short - just about enough to get into "relax" mode, and then it's already time to go back. But you did good things; good for yourself, and good for your dogs :-)

    1. Speaking of the dogs, Poppy was miserable the morning I went back to work. (George is used to it, after all, he's 10 years old). She followed me out to the gate and watched me drive away with sad eyes. I felt so bad!

  6. That's great about work and the lack of dread going back to it. You made an excellent choice to transfer. I too love the GBBS; it is a comfort ritual for me and I re-watch the old seasons too. It's amazing how much I've forgotten!

  7. I am catching up on my blog reading and just read all of the posts that I have missed in the last two weeks. It is nice that autumn is finally here, and it is so great that you are still liking your job. It makes all of the difference in the world. Good luck with your allergies.

  8. Lovely to hear that you have no anxiety about returning to work. I love the GBBS too, and my older son and I watch it together when he comes over and cooks dinner for us.

  11. It is nice to not worry about going back to work. Love GBBS but it is on Netflix and I can't see giving such a horrible company my money. I do miss it,

  13. Your perfect new job isn't spawning any dramatic blog stories - about deranged principals, bitchy co-workers and impossible workloads! Can't you just make some stuff up?
