The MAGA outrage over the new (American!) pope has been a real surprise and delight. With that in mind, I wanted to share the following great response to a Lara Loomer tweet I found last night.
If Jesus existed I am sure he would have been "woke" or alert to the issues of suppressed minorities, the disabled, the poor and people of different ethnicities. How dare Laura Loomer say that? Disgustingly irreverent.
I was apprehensive when I first heard....but then once I heard who he was and that he was continuing the last Pope's work....I was relieved. Im surprised the dump hasn't shot his fat trap yet. Or has he? 😂😂😂
Laura looner and other MAGAs align themselves with phoney evangelicals at their own peril. Their anti Jewish and anti Islamic feelings were enough, now they add anti Catholic sentiment and eventually anti every religion but their own. They’ll offend so many it will all shatter like a glass house. -Rj
He's not as "welcoming" to the LGBTQ+ community as Francis, who wasn't all that friendly either, and more important than that is how will he handle these continuing pedophile scandals???
I wasn't surprised, the Republican Evangelical base despises Catholics as it is, calling them false Christians, but to have a Centrist American in charge of 1.3 billion people was like putting battery acid in their Republican Kool-Aid.
