Soup for supper

Sunday afternoon I made a pot of soup from scratch that turned out to be the best I've ever made, along with two loaves of homemade bread that also turned out exceptionally well. We've been eating big bowls of soup with torn pieces of crusty bread ever since. Delicious!

We have thick vegetable soup for lunch every day. It's what keeps the world turning!

Can I come for leftovers?
The scent in your kitchen must have been wonderful - home-baked bread and a simmering pot of soup on!

Homemade soup and bread are what the very best meals on earth are made of and yours look wonderful.

We had homemade Chicken Tortilla soup over the weekend trying to stave off the cold!! My favorite thing about winter is making soup.

Until I made this soup, I'd only ever had Progresso lentil soup. Mine was WAY better, if I do say it myself!

We've really enjoyed it!

I attempted Chicken Tortilla soup a couple of weeks ago and it was a flop. Do you have a good recipe you can share, by chance?

It really did smell amazing. We came in from the cold (after walking dogs) and it smelled heavenly in the house!

And you can pack it full of veggies and goodness!

I don't make soup nearly often enough.

Good, but not as good as on a cold day!

I wish I could send you a bowl and a half loaf!

It's really economical, too.

All of your soups look amazing, Mary.

Well done you! The thing about bread making is that if you just do it, you get much, much better at it.

Please mail a bowl of that soup to me here in Yorkshire, England. I suggest FedEx and an "URGENT" sticker.

I concur. I can think of no better meal than soup with a chunk of good bread.
