I like that; a cheery start to my Friday as I await the warmer days ... though we'll be in the upper 70s for a couple of days until the cold comes back on Monday!
This poem spoke to me as something deeper than just an ode to the goodness of trees. The lines "standing up to power lines", "standing against the wind", "sweeping away the night", and "holding on to the hope of warmer days to come" were like a balm to me this morning.
What would we do without trees?

ReplyDeleteThe lungs of the earth work mighty hard. I love trees.
ReplyDeleteWe have, I believe, just passed the halfway point in winter. Honestly, I would not object if it started warming up now.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh, that was sweetness! Thanks. We all could use a bit of sweetness in these bitter days.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Thank you, Jennifer.
ReplyDeleteI think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree... poem.
ReplyDeleteI was expecting something snarky for some reason. This is charming.
