Happy Independence Day!

Jumping in on a work break to wish my American friends a Happy Independence Day!

Yes, I had to work today, but it's dead slow. The mall we're attached to closed early, and I don't understand why we didn't, too. Oh well. We're making time and a half (along with holiday pay) to basically do nothing. There's over an hour left to go and I think there are maybe three customers in the whole store. We'll be done and out of here fast as soon as we can lock the doors.

Have a good one!

  1. I delight in this post --the captioned picture especially. A dear friend, an Englishwoman, once asked me what I thought of America. Best I could come up with was, we are among the oldest British tax-evaders on Earth. She hugged me. Happy Fourth!

  7. I told a couple of Americans that we wanted our country back last night, and they said we could have it. They moved to Britain to get away from Trump.

  8. I have always liked the queen. I wonder if the U.K. would consider taking us back.

  9. Somebody likes the queen! Donald Trump I'd love to meet. Maybe we can have Trump if you have the Queen? Paying her yearly quota would bankrupt America. Gee, it must be great having Trump as President? 😬. How are you enjoying Independence Day?

  12. Our beloved Queen Elizabeth would never show disrespect to our American cousins even though all who voted for Trump are indeed peasants.

  18. UAE people celebrate their UAE national day on 2nd of December every year. In July 1971, six of the Trucial States (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain, Ajman, and Fujairah) agreed on a Federal Constitution for achieving independence as the United Arab Emirates. The UAE became independent on 2nd December 1971. 47th UAE National Day 2018 is a day of happiness throughout United Arab Emirates.
