Cold Front

A cold front blew in last night and the temperature this morning is only a bit above freezing. I took these pictures late yesterday afternoon on my way to a friend's house. If you look closely at the bottom photo you'll see that it's a cotton field below the cold, wild sky.

  3. I thought it was a field of snow balls the cold front dropped. Keep warm.

  4. I thought it was a field of frosty plants! I'm glad to know it's just cotton balls. (I didn't even realize South Carolina still grew much cotton.)

  5. Close to freezing here last night, too, and still chilly during the day, but the sun is back and I enjoyed a walk in glorious golden autumn light at my lunch break today.

  8. It is colder here too, 61 F predicted for the day and 50 at night. It feels like autumn now. Your photos capture the mood of a cold day, nice how you capture the cotton.

  9. Thanks for pointing out that that is a cotton field, I am always interested in what grows and what it looks like in other lands. I would guess that frost in cotton fields is rare and would not be good, so I hope the temperature does not drop below freezing. Good photographs. Thanks.

    1. Frost never seems to hurt cotton plants, and the cotton is always harvested this time of year. I think the field in my picture had already been harvested once (by machine of course) and the cotton you see there is what's left over.

    1. Haha! Floridians can't handle the cold. Neither can a lot of South Carolinians!
