Sunday morning harvest
I have a lot of lettuce at the moment that needs to be picked and either eaten or given away. It's getting to be too hot for lettuce, plus I need the space.
I pulled a few carrots to do a size check, and they're still way too small to harvest. These tiny ones will be a sweet, tender addition to a salad, though.

Know anybody with a pet rabbit?
Ooh, fresh garden lettuce!
Yum! The lettuce at the store isn't very good. This looks much better!
Lucky you. I know from when my mother had a garden how much better the taste in produce from the garden than the market.
lovely !
My grandma used to make a hot lettuce dressing with bacon which was simply tastylicious over baked potatoes.
The lettuce is wonderful. Carrots look good, too.
I am grieving the fact that my lettuce is all gone now. Eat tons of salads. TONS!
O.K.'s Mum has an abundance of lettuce and other leafy salads growing at the moment, too. She can't use it all herself so she is giving away lots - but so many of her neighbours have gardens of their own and grow vegetables, as is normal in a village.
Isn't it amazing to think we can put seeds in the ground and wind up with food? It's a minor miracle.
Such a wonderful salad that will make.
I can't help feeling those lovely slender carrots will be tastier raw.
Mmmm! I wish you lived on the other side of my fence.
It all looks so healthy. Do you have garden slugs and snails in South Carolina?
We do, but fortunately I haven't been troubled with them....at least not yet!
So do I, these days...
They were so tiny they didn't amount to a mouthful!
The lettuce is tender and sweet.
I get excited like a kid a Christmas every time!
That sounds like a nice village.
I've been eating salad and giving away plenty, too.
The carrots are tiny still. I'm beginning to wonder if something might be wrong since they don't seem to be growing like they should!
YUM! That sounds delicious.
It's a night and day difference!
It's really good. I'll be growing more next year!
It's yummy!
No but we saw wild baby rabbits in our yard a few weeks ago. I wonder if they know my garden is there?
