I have started seeing masks around here. There were some employees at Walmart wearing them, too. At my house and family it's mostly sinus infections and allergies.
We have a couple of staff members who wear masks all the time. I hate it, but it's looking like this cold/flu/covid season is going to be a bad one, and it may be for the best to start masking again. Ugh.
Absolutely! Although last week one teacher (with zero common sense, apparently) showed up at work running a fever and obviously very unwell. She didn't last two hours, had to go to Urgent Care, and ended up having strep. It's bad enough that people send their sick children to school, but when the TEACHERS show up sick and contagious, that's just downright negligent.
Get well soon, Jennifer! Wearing a mask is not a bad idea, actually. This time of year, everyone is spreading germs left, right and centre. I keep seeing people wearing masks on the train, in the supermarket and elsewhere. My sister's hairdresser had to cancel their appointment because she has Covid... it's not gone, and of course there are many other things our bodies can easily pick up.
There's lots of Covid around here at the moment. Some people are masking, but not too many. The main problem I have is that my asthma turns a simple cold into an ordeal.
It’s all the hugs from the kids and the beginning of the year When I was still teaching and kids were always hanging around my desk and borrowing my pens, I figured I acquired enough antibodies to protect a small nation. Hope you feel better
There's an unpleasant strain of Covid doing the rounds. So many people just don't think before gleefully spreading their germs around. I hope you recover quickly and don't develop further symptoms.
My son tested positive for Covid yesterday and the doctor said that every other video visit he's had is for Covid or Flu. Have you had those vaccines? Hope you feel better soon, Jennifer, and stay healthy!
Jennifer I am sorry and I hope this isn't covid. Not to be a downer, but the more times you get covid the higher the risk of it becoming long covid which is what I have been dealing with since 2023 and it really sucks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
I've only had Covid once, that I know of. Last month when I got sick I tested negative. I hear a lot of bad stuff about long Covid, and I'm so sorry you're dealing with it! Take care of yourself.
What grades are at your school? We have kindergarten through 5th grade, and the youngest kids spread EVERYTHING around. Several of my favorite kids always want to stop by my office and hug me, or give me hugs when they see me in the halls. It's really sweet, and I like it, but man....I think it's probably bad for my health!
I'm sorry you're sick. Yes, a mask might be a very good idea. Meanwhile, get well.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hate the thought of masking again, but I also hate being sick!
DeleteI don't know about down there, but there's some sort of sinusy, sore throaty thing going around up here that's knocking people down for about a week.
ReplyDeleteCovid and strep are rampant around here right now, as well as some lesser cold-like viruses.

DeleteIt's those pesky children, they spread illness like others spread bad news.

ReplyDeleteThe meme is brilliant. But I am so sorry you’re not well. You deserve a long bout of good health.

ReplyDeleteI really hope this isn't covid.
ReplyDeleteMasks may make a comeback as Covid steps up again and people are once again being stupid.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Wearing a mask to work in an elementary school is actually not a bad idea.

DeleteOh no! I hope it goes away quickly! I've held off the germs so far this year but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
