Yesterday was quiet and calm, with gorgeous fall weather and near-perfect temperatures. It's been one of the nicest Thanksgivings I can remember.
We had lots of good food. I worked on it at a relaxed pace throughout the day, cleaning up after myself as I went. It barely felt like work. I even took a nap while the turkey roasted.
The dogs got plenty of warm roast turkey with their supper, and we all went for a good walk after eating.
There's a ton of leftovers. I had a turkey sandwich for breakfast and we'll be eating the same exact meal as last night for dinner tonight. My homemade cornbread dressing was SO GOOD. Grandma would have been proud of me.
Today should be nice. The doctors' offices where Gregg is due to go service aquariums today are closed for the holiday so he gets a second day off....in a row, no less! That's highly unusual for him and I'm glad he has some free time to spend at home for once.
Enjoy the day, my friends!
That sounds and looks perfectly perfect.ReplyDelete
Sometimes it is best to be thankful for the dearest one in our lives and spend the day with them. Just them.
Extra time off at home is especially sweet for workers. Your day sounds ideal, ours was too.ReplyDelete
This sounds (and looks) wonderful, and I am so glad you had one of the nicest Thanksgivings you can remember!ReplyDelete
It's all about Christmas markets here at the moment. In fact, I am joining a bunch of former class mates tonight for some food and mulled wine (or other hot drinks). I won't stay too long, as I'll be on the train to O.K.'s tomorrow morning.
Sounds and looks like a lovely Thanksgiving.ReplyDelete
It was very nice! Thank you!Delete
Everything looks so beautiful and delicious, happy holiday to you.ReplyDelete
Thank you dear Yael!Delete
It all looks so good.ReplyDelete
It was super tasty! And enjoyed in the comfort of our own home.Delete
OK, who had greens and who had corn? How super delicious it all looks.ReplyDelete
Greens for me, corn for my greens hating husband!Delete
I love deviled eggs! I'd eat them and not leave room for else.ReplyDelete
We love them too!Delete
Your meal looks wonderful. We have to wait till Dec' 25th for our Turkey.ReplyDelete
We'll be having ham at Christmas!Delete
No traditional Thanksgiving dinner for us here. Glad you have leftovers. I'll be there in less than 24 hours.ReplyDelete
You would be so very welcome!Delete
I think my comment disappeared so I'm trying again: Your lovely dinner looks delicious. The weather is beautiful here, too. Sunny and about 80. Low humidity. Franklin and I will go walking soon.Delete
Glad your Thanksgiving went well. We'll be eating the same food for ages, too! We have an aquarium in the Middle School and I've never thought to ask whether it's professionally maintained. I bet it is. I've never seen anyone from the school work on it.ReplyDelete
My middle school has an aquarium that Gregg maintains, too. I'd be interested to know who your "fish guy" is!Delete
At Thanksgiving I assume that you toasted your beloved president. He deserves to be toasted in my humble opinion.ReplyDelete
