A walk in the sunshine

I took a walk around the neighborhood with George this afternoon while taking a short break from work. The sun is finally out and it's been a pretty day. I snapped a few pictures to show you how blue the sky was and how pleasant our little walking loop can be, even in the winter.

It's nice to see the sun again!

  1. One of my favorite things about winter (in the south) is the sunny days with no humidity and bright blue skies. Before you know it, it will be the hot, humid summer again! The pictures are great!

    1. Ugh, yes, the hot humid summer. It's coming! The humidity is the only thing I hate about summertime though. I'm looking forward to longer days and sitting on the porch again!

  3. We had sun today, too. I sat on the deck to read for a while. Not up to going for walks yet. George always looks handsome. I tell my non-blogging friends about Marco. They think he's hilarious.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. I wish you had better weather for getting outdoors in the winter! Although I wish for snow sometimes, I think I would hate being shut inside most of the winter like northern folk.

    1. We have loads of trees, mostly large pine and oak, with some swamp bay around the edges and, in lots of yards, dogwood and crepe myrtle!

  12. You live in a wonderful neighborhood! I miss all the pine trees of the south. We have them here but not like we did in the south. The sunny day and blue skies are so nice to see and of course George is looking quite handsome!

    1. Our neighborhood is small and very modest, but it fits us to a "t". Our realtor did a good job helping us find it!

  13. That's one of the great things about working from home, isn't it! Most days, I have too many meetings scheduled for going out in between, but whenever possible, I take advantage of daylight and - even better! - sunshine for a walk.
Your neighbourhood is beautiful with leafy paths and many trees. No wonder the deer you often see in the evenings like it there!
Good for both yourself and George :-)

    1. That's mostly pine, some oaks, and holly trees along with some small cedar hedges and camellias, both of which are evergreen. But yes, plenty of green even in January!

    1. A little bit of sun again today, but COLD. High temps were only in the upper 40's and there's been a sharp wind blowing all day. Tonight is supposed to be below freezing. Brrrr!!!

  22. That looks like a great walk. Lots of trees, as YP mentioned. Is that bungalow yours?

    1. No, the bungalow belongs to a neighbor. I just included it because I love the Spanish moss hanging from the branches of the tree in front of it!
