Thank you Mary! She really is a cutie...and SO GOOD. Her first vet appointment went great. She wanted to meet ALL the dogs and ALL the people! She got a clean bill of health, too.
Her "Aunt Martina" gave her a beautiful gift bag full of new chew toys and treats (with some things for George, too) and said it was for her "Gotcha Day". It warmed my heart!
Out of the dozens of names we seriously considered, it seemed to suit her best. And while it's apparently a very common girl dog name in the UK, here in the States it's not all that common. Thanks Neil!
Thanks Rachel! She's spunky and sweet and has the brightest eyes. She also has a bit of an independent streak, which is unusual in a puppy. She's wanted to be outside on the screened porch all day today, mostly by herself. Which was good because George and I needed a nap and I didn't have to worry about supervising her. She's curious about everything, too. I think Poppy suits her personality!
She's really cute, and already it looks like she's growing. She weighed in at 24 pounds this morning. The vet thinks she'll end up between 40 and 50 pounds, but probably no more than that. Her legs are very long so she's going to be tall.
She is a darling doggo! Congratulations to all of you!
