Today, the one and only Marcoman is 15 years old! Happy Hatchday, Marco!
I decided to make today festive so I invited Marla and Martina over to help us celebrate. I sent Marla the following text last night, and her reply made me laugh.
We had a tiny little party on the porch this afternoon with lots of good treats and hard apple cider!

Such a dear little man in a bird suit. Happy hatchday to him!
The picture with the icing on his beak is tremendous!
Beautiful bird! What kinds of things can he eat? I don't know much about their diet. Or anything really!
spicy peanuts- perfect! Hatch day everyday, please! Marco is such a handsome guy!
King Marco! OK, I know he gets in trouble from time to time.
I have the distinct feeling he liked all the extra attention! Many happy returns to the little birdie!!!
Marco is only 15-year young! So cute and adorable. Happy birthday to Marco too!
No-one ever gives me boiled spiced Peanuts for my birthday. I must have been born in the wrong suit. Happy Birthday Marco!
Belated Happy Hatchday from me, too!
Now you have a 15-year-old in the house… teenagers make sure life is never boring, but then again you never had a minute of boredom before.
Nice to have your friends over for a little celebrating.
Happy Hatchday green boy! You have been well spoilt.
Well, at 15, he's hardly come of age for a parrot. Hoppy Birdday.
Cupcakes, Cajun-spiced boiled peanuts... that is one spoiled 15-year-old!
He has the same hatch day as H.I.
He is so sweet! Happy hatch day, Marco.
Thank you Mary! He IS a little man in a bird suit. He certainly thinks so, anyway!
I like that one a lot!
As his base diet, he eats a pelleted food that's made by Roudybush. But like all parrots, he needs fresh fruit, vegetables, seeds, and the occasional raw nuts. Eclectus parrots have higher vitamin A requirements than most species, so vegetables are even more important for him. They can also eat small amounts of lean protein now and then.
He is handsome! His feather condition is outstanding thanks to the sunlight he's able to get on our screened in porch. Sunlight is crucial to birds for optimum health.
Time to time? Ha! More like daily.... :)
Oh, he LOVES attention. When friends come over he turns into an utter ham, talking, laughing along when we laugh, calling to the dogs...Martina brought her new puppy over to play with Poppy, and Marco called to them and "Woo hoo"ed at them a few times when they got extra rambunctious!
Thanks for stopping by and wishing him a happy birthday!
Yay Marco! Not many birds get to celebrate their hatchday. I hope he realizes how fortunate he is.
I wish I could share a bag of these peanuts with you, Cro. They turned out better than I hoped.
Thanks! Life with Marco has never been boring. Not even once!
That's the truth.
Thank you, Graham! Yes, there's a very good chance Marco might outlive us. I tell him he'd better be extra nice to my friends' kids and our nieces and nephews.
Good eggs, the both of them!
Also all the crackers and fruit and cheese...and a couple of sips of apple cider...spoiled is RIGHT. Lol.
He's sweet sometimes, but sometimes he's a little hellion! Thanks for stopping by, Melinda.
Happy Happy Day... he is naughty but we all love him.
Happy Hatchday, Marco the Magnificent! Those cupcakes look dee-lish!
He takes it all for granted, Steve. Entitled little brat! :)
Yes, you've got to love these naughty boys, don't you? Glad your Winston is home safe!
The cupcakes are dee-lish even if they came from the supermarket bakery. We all love buttercream!
Hatch day, I love it! Such a beautiful little guy; doesn't look a day over 14.
I never had a boiled peanut in my life. I feel like I should do something about that. I found an instapot recipe. Happy birthday Marco!
I too didn't know birds lived to 15yo! Congrats !
Marco is my favorite! I hope he has a wonderful year ahead.
who's a pretty boy...pretty pretty pretty boy..Happy birthday sweet boy.
Gosh, my blog is just turning fifteen, same as Marco! That's a long time... Happy Hatch Day to the Beautiful Teen!
Thank you so much, Fresca! :)
He is rather pretty, isn't he? Thank you!
Next year I guess I'll have to throw him a "Sweet 16" party! Haha.
He's probably going to outlive us all. Seriously, they can live upwards of 70+ years....
Let me know what you think of them, Debby! We eat them all the time in the South.
You can't beat an eclectus parrot for beautiful feathers! Thanks for stopping by. :)
Belated birthday greetings to your feathered friend.
