Overnight we got about 2-3 inches of snow. It's so pretty! Since our high temperature today is going to hover around the freezing mark, and tonight is supposed to be 13 degrees, I imagine it's going to stick around for a while.
It is pretty. No snow for us. Our high today will be 37. We've had cold, nasty rain pouring into Lake Junebug. No one wants to stay at the Lake Junebug Resort & Rumpus Room now.
My son in Texas got snow, too, and his kids enjoyed the day off playing in the snow. He had moved his snowblower when the family moved from Illinois to Texas a year and a half ago so he was ready. No snow here in Illinois - just very, very cold!
There's no driving happening here! We're on our second day of "e-learning" because of roads covered in ice. I love working from home. All I have to do is answer the school phone and check my email from time to time.
We got about an inch-and-a-half and c-c-c-c-cold! Luckily my boss closed down work today as most SCer's cannot drive in the heat much less snow and ice!
I actually love when it snows I know many people hate it. But have you ever noticed after the snow in the next day the air is so crisp clean and bright? And it's a known fact that snow absolutely filters the air.
If you can clear it from your driveway, steps, and any walkways, even if you only have a broom, or even a leaf blower if the snow's light enough, it would be a good idea. Even at 30 degrees, the sun will be strong enough to melt it, and it will refreeze at night, leaving you with icy surfaces that could be around for a while. Can't remember if you do get occasional snow where you are so forgive me if I'm snow-splaining to you!
We're just coming and going through the back door, which opens out to our porch which is almost level with the ground. Our tall front steps are a no-go right now.

ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Cold rain sucks. I hope you're dry and warm and spending time with the pups.

ReplyDeleteIt's crazy that Texas and Florida and Louisiana are getting snow! I love seeing the pictures from all over the south.
DeleteI'm glad you can appreciate the beauty of it. I do enjoy snow as long as I don't have to drive in it.

ReplyDeleteYou're right. The drivers around here are terrible on a GOOD day. Lots of wrecks and cars in ditches yesterday, from what I understand.
DeleteThis morning it's 27 and frosty with blue sky. No snow in the forecast. Enjoy the pretty white stuff!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a treat to see a little snow accumulation here!
DeleteEnjoy the winter wonderland while it lasts!
ReplyDeleteAbout half of the snow is still hanging on due to the crazy low temperatures, but now the roads have black ice and that's a nightmare. I'm staying in!

ReplyDeleteI have noticed that! I love the quiet after a snowfall, too.
DeleteIt's beautiful, but so cold. Keep warm!
ReplyDeleteWe're keeping warm, and the power bill I just opened proves it! It might be the highest bill I've ever gotten in the winter. :(
DeleteMelting here but boy, did we get a lot! Not sure if it will all be gone by the time the temperatures get below freezing again tonight.
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to see how much fun your grandkids had in the snow! It's even rarer for you than for us, and it's pretty rare here!
DeleteIt IS beautiful. Glad you can enjoy it. Glad it will warm up again soon!
ReplyDeleteAre you in NY? Say hi to KB for me!
DeleteTime to get your skis out and see if you can make the American Winter Olympics team. Milan 2026.
ReplyDeleteI've never put on a pair of skis in my life!

DeleteLooks nice.
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty first thing in the morning!
DeleteIt's cold and wet here. Sorry, but I really don't like snow (or rain).
ReplyDeleteIt's a treat to see snow here, because it's so rare. Kids are ecstatic!
DeleteIt looks picturesque! Just grey, wet and muddy here now, and much milder, with even higher temps forecast for tomorrow and the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think it's going to slowly warm up a little bit here over the weekend. It's been record breaking cold all month!
