Sunshine and big blue skies

Here in South Carolina the flood recovery is underway, and for the first time in several weeks, we have bright sunny skies. Everything  seems fresh and clean after the record setting rainfall we've had.

I was off today so a friend and I went to lunch, and then browsed around the farmer's market. We both enjoyed the gorgeous weather, and resisted the urge to spend money on fall flowers and decorations. Everything is so pretty at the market this time of year! I wanted to buy some of everything!

After so many days of rain and gloom, sunshine and blue skies are good for the soul!

  2. I like the mums. Those are mums, right? They sure don't look like that here.

    1. They are indeed mums! I thought they were very nice, too. I wanted some for my patio, but am trying to save money right now, so I passed them up. Sigh. :)

  3. Happy to hear that you survived the floods Jennifer. I loved your second picture - so rich in colour. Your American pumpkins at $8 each are the same price as the pumpkins I saw in our local English supermarket yesterday.

    1. It's funny to think that 3000 miles apart, our pumpkins cost the same!

      Thanks for the nice comment!

  4. Nice bright pictures to celebrate your survival. I'm not with you about the 'Mums'. They are sold here for All Saints Day, and people decorate the graves with them. They give me the creeps.

    1. You're right about the mums...they remind me of Dia de Los Muertos celebrations, Halloween, and autumn funerals. They ARE a bit creepy, aren't they?

  6. Aren't they though? I was worried autumn would all but pass us by this year, when cool weather struck abruptly in late August, but thankfully things picked back up and the last couple of weeks in particular have been downright gorgeous.

I hope that despite the recent floods, you're doing well and are still able to enjoy this enchantingly pretty season.

Big hugs & joyful October wishes,
    ♥ Jessica
