The devil in the pantry

Somebody kept flying into the pantry every time I opened the door to take out an ingredient for our dinner tonight. And refused (refused!) to come back out.

He was after the walnuts and prepared to fight me for them.

I wonder what it feels like, being a Parrot?

It is like having a toddler in the house, only that this one can reach the highest shelves!

I love this beautiful creature.

That’s just heartless. Look at that face. How could you possibly turn him down?

Jennifer said...

Innocent face? Bwahahaha....he growled and tried to bite me!

10 pounds of attitude in a 5 pound package!

Jennifer said...

He growls and strikes at you like a damn cobra when you try to stop him from doing something he wants to do!

A toddler in the house....permanently. He'll probably outlive us both.

Jennifer said...

He's cat like in doing whatever he wants to do!

Jennifer said...

He's part demon! Haha.

He's a lot of fun. :)

What a character he is and what fun you must have with him.

He's a sparky little feathered man.

I think you should consider calling your blog parrot tree journal. He’s pretty darn cute. I’d give him the walnuts.

Well, we can't really blame him, can we? Walnuts! And pecans! It's parrot heaven!

I envy you this Marco.

Well at least you taught him who the parent is ! ! .....for today anyway.🤣

He IS fun, but he can be a real pain in the ass, too. Everyone thinks it's all cuteness and fun and laughs with parrots...well, that's part of it, but there's also lots of ear-piercing shrieking, demands for attention, messiness, and they're about the most high maintenance pet you can imagine.

Jennifer said...

Sparky! That's a good word for him.

Jennifer said...

Well, we used to have a little rescue sparrow named Chip who came before Marco, and he lived in a ficus tree in our house, and that's how this blog got its name. :)

Jennifer said...

We also keep sunflower seeds in the bottom for filling the outside bird feeders....he REALLY likes those.

Jennifer said...

If I sent him to stay with you for a week or two you'd get over that real quick! Hahah.

Marco has zero respect for authority! Ha!

Count your blessings when I open up the pantry in it I sometimes find a scorpion not a parrot.
