And now, this

I just read a breaking news alert that President Biden has just tested positive for Covid.

It's terrible news. I hope he's okay. And I'm really interested in the reaction of the Trump fans on hearing this news. Let's see how long their "how dare you wish harm on a POTUS" lasts...

  1. Wishing President Biden all the best. As he recovers, perhaps he will reflect on the wisdom of his decision to try for a second term. Sometimes passing the baton is the right thing to do.

    1. I think it's too late for that. A new candidate wouldn't have any hope of winning at this point.

  2. If I was a devout Christian, I'd say this was a sign from God.

  3. I read that too. I just got over covid and it nailed me! Biden of course will get the very best treatment and will probably be back on the trail in about an hour or so...

    1. They've started him on anti virals already so that's something.

  4. I heard that too. I hear he is holding his own though. I also hear now that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minority House leader Hakeem Jeffries asked Biden to drop out of the race. I feel bad for Biden, he will soon be running with no support from any of the Democrats. If he wins they are going to feel like shit, not to mention this is splintering the party terribly. I mean, why don't we just hand the seat to the dump at this point. If we were further out from election day, Id say he should drop out as we'd have time to get another candidate ready...but at such a late date, another person would never gain the momentum to win. I will risk it and say we keep Biden. We'd never win now with a new candidate. Harris would not win...if Hillary didn't win, Harris sure as hell isn't, thought I like her.

    2. (Hillary did win though (the popular vote). But yeah.

  5. I will stick with Blue whomever runs; but if it isn't Joe, the new candidate better hit the ground running, be fierce and in your face to that OTHER party, and promise to carry on Joe's work.

    1. At this point Uncle Joe could die and they could wheel his body out and prop it up, Weekend at Bernie's style, and I'd STILL vote for him before I'd vote for the Orange Felon.

  6. Sorry to hear that. At his age, any illness carries more risk than for someone younger, and Covid is known to be especially so. As you and some others here have said, it is way too late now for him to drop out of the race; another candidate would hardly stand a realistic chance.

    1. Spot on, Meike. We're in real trouble and I fear it's only going to get worse. Even if Trump loses, the people that support him and all he stands for aren't going anywhere.

  7. Like Bob, I will stick with the Democrats no matter who their candidate is. Biden's administration is filled with people doing good work for the country and making great progress despite the Republican's effort to stop them in the House. It's a good team to vote for and I hope the Democrats end up on top (in the House and Senate too).

    1. How so many people can support a person like Trump over a good and decent man like Biden (even if he is old) just boggles the mind. If Biden should get reelected and proved to be unable to finish his term, I have confidence on Harris and the good people in his administration to carry on without a problem. If Trump wins...we're screwed. And if Trump wins and can't finish his term (he's old too!) Vance and the new fascists they surround themselves with will destroy this country.

  8. I just don't understand who all these Democrats calling for Biden to step down think is going to run. I also wondered if Biden really does have Covid or if this is part of a plan to allow him to step down gracefully. I guess I just don't know what to believe these days.

    1. I'm so afraid that Kamala Harris won't have a chance if Biden steps down and she replaces him. She's a mixed race woman which will probably tank her chances of getting elected. It hurts me to even say that, and it's disgraceful, but I'm just being realistic. I think her being female will be just as much of a liability as Biden's age.

Like you, I don't know what to believe anymore. You can't trust anything you read or see on the news not to be misinformation. I despair for the future. I don't see how this country can continue on this road that we're on. Just this morning I passed two trucks on the way to work with Trump flags flying and bumper stickers saying "Fuck Joe Biden " "Fuck Your Feelings" and "Joe and the Ho Gotta Go". I despair.

  9. I read that his symptoms are mild, so let's hope there are no greater ramifications. I will happily and proudly vote for whoever the Dems nominate.

  10. Jennifer, it surely is a scary time for our country. If I lived on your street we could get together and commiserate. I just don't understand why people blindly follow that felon. I just don't.
