Breaking news...

Joe Biden is a good and decent man and will be right up there with Jimmy Carter when I think of the best presidents of my lifetime. This is another example of him attempting to put the good of the country ahead of his own personal ambitions. We owe him our gratitude and respect. I hope with all my heart that this was the right decision.

Now it's time to go to work.

  5. I have very mixed feelings. Joe is a great and caring person and has been an excellent president. I hope that Harris and ? can win but remember what happened to Hillary Clinton. Is this backwards country ready for a female president? I am doubtful and wish I weren't.

  7. It had become such a controversy. I do think that Joe would have won (how's that for optimism) but if they get someone in there who can simply rebut trump's lies one at a time, highlight the ridiculousness of him and his enablers, I really do think we'll be okay. This has to be a very low point for him. I'm sending him a thank you card. We do owe him a debt of gratitude.

  8. Harris and Buttigieg would be a great team. I think it would excite and get people off their couches. Both are bright, articulate and could wipe the floor with Trump and JD.

  9. I think this was inevitable, it'll be interesting now to see who can knock Trump off that arrogant perch of his.

  10. No matter where on this planet we live, this has an impact on us. We're all be following with bated breath.
As I said before, I think Mr Biden is a decent man who has been serving his country faithfully for decades. I simply don't know enough about Kamala Harris to feel as if I can say anything. The fact that she's a woman should not be determining why one votes for her - or not,.

  11. In the presidential race, Kamala Harris has several disadvantages. She is a nice person with a genuine smile. She's articulate, intelligent and has a long record of public service. She's also a woman and non-white. All of these will count against her in the eyes of The MAGA mobsters. Fortunately, they represent only a quarter of the entire electorate.

  12. Agreed. An incredibly decent man. Librarian's comment made me pause. No intelligent person (man or woman) is voting for Harris b/c she's a woman. We will vote for her b/c she is qualified, smart, has a long (long) record of public service, and I could go on and on but won't. I am sad about the way Biden was treated but hopeful for victory. I also hope everyone who fought to have him step down will now do their bit by working overtime to get Harris elected.

  13. I think he did the right thing, and the fact that it was the hard thing to do makes me like him even more.

  14. Joe Biden did a ton for this country.
Besides lifting it from the depths of the pandemic to leading it to one of the best economic recoverings in the world, to safeguards for the environment to the best infrastructure projects that will benefit generations to come.
Harris is the best person for the job. She's been there with Joe leading the country, no matter the hateful rhetoric of the MAGAts.
    LFG!

    XOXO

  15. I will always remember that Joe Biden but his country first. And now, let's get to work. A prosecutor running against a felon. Should prove to be interesting stuff.

  16. I believe it was the right decision. I was with Joe and would have stayed with him, but when he got sick with COVID and so many people were turning against him, I think that made him realize it would be better to let Kamala take over. She has my full support.

    Love,
    Janie
