Poor darling, he looks hungry.

He wasn't hungry for long! He's been eating like a champ!

What kind of bird is it? Did you find it in a nest? Is it a he or a she? How are you going to teach it how to fly?

It's a baby sparrow, whose nest was destroyed in a storm. Someone brought it to the pet store where Gregg works. I used to rehab baby birds so Gregg brought it home for some tlc. I kept it for two days, while I was off, and got it back on it's feet so to speak. Now the girls at the store are caring for it again. And he's already fledged--it doesn't take long with small birds, and no one has to teach them--so he'll be released soon.

Phew! That's a relief. I had a mental image of you wearing goggles and ascending the skies in a motorised paraglider with the orphan following you.

I love Pudding's last comment.
The babies hawks were jumping out of the nest here a few months ago when out of the blue we went from 90 to 115 in a day. This when on for a two weeks. The poor babies.
The habitat group close to me had so many babies people found and brought in.
It was just too hot.

cheers, parsnip

Poor baby, I hope he/she will be alright. I wonder whether the parents weren't still around, looking for their little ones after the storm.
