Farmer's Market Fall Festival

The biggest farmer's market in this area has a fall and spring plant and flower festival. This year's fall festival is happening this weekend. I went to check it out yesterday morning and took a few pictures. The vendors were just starting to arrive and set up and so things weren't very busy yet.

There were lots of neat things for sale. I restrained myself and only bought a large bag of kettle corn and about 10 pounds of mountain apples.

Here are some of the pictures I took...

  1. Wow, that looks amazing. I love seeing all those Pumpkins, all the same size. You're lucky to have such a great market. I think I would have spent all my money with the lady in picture No 2.

    1. It's too hot to grow apples here. The nearest place that grows good ones are the mountains of western North Carolina. That's where our fresh "local" apples come from.

    2. Kettle corn is basically sweet and salty popcorn.

  3. I am always astounded at the amount of STUFF that North America produces.

  4. I have never seen coloured indian corn like that before. Thanks for the pictures Jennifer. It looks like the kind of market I would like to visit.

    1. That Indian Corn really was pretty. There were lots of things I didn't get photos of, I just did a quick walkthrough.

  5. Gosh I spent money at each of the vendors your pictures. Good thing I wasn't there ! hahahahaha
All the baskets look fabulous, loved the pumpkins and any kind of relish is perfect for me.
I would love the wheel sculpture in your 7th picture.
You are so lucky to have such a wonderful fall festival where you live. Fall in America is always such a wonderful time. The air smells so good, crops are in, fall veggies and fruits plus just the fun of cooler days.
Will you make an apple pie or cobbler ? yum !

    cheers, parsnip

  6. Gorgeous market! I would spend all day there. Interesting to see pumpkins are $6.00. Here in our area they are going for $1.00. Must be a bumper crop here.
    Thanks for sharing your photos!

    1. $1.00 seems awfully cheap for a pumpkin. Lucky you!

      Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Looks like a great market. Is it seasonal or do they keep it going all year round?

    1. It's year round, but there are very few vendors during the period from November until March.

  8. I like almost everything you show here. Baskets, BBQ sauce, punkins, Angel Trumpet (I don't have one in our yard now). Stay warm and safe in case the edge of the storms touch your area. You are probably well out of the way.
