Look out, Cro, we may just have to take him up on his offer and become your neighbor! France and Canada both are looking better and better in these evil times.
France is a very forward looking country. We have banned plastic bags in supermarkets, insisted that all new housing has eco-friendly roofing, stopped throwing away un-sold food, etc, etc. The problem is that if just one country does all it can for the environment, and all the others do nothing, it makes our effort rather pointless. I don't understand Trump.
Cro, France is not the only country having such measures in place - Germany does the same. Plastic bags are still around, but getting fewer and fewer as people are now forced to pay for them. All household rubbish is separated into recyclable materials like glass, plastic, paper etc. New buildings have to achieve certain eco-friendly standards. We try hard to use more renewable energy all the time.
I was out with my girlfriends last night and so your blog is the first place where I have heard/read about Trump's decision reg. the Paris agreement. As for Macron, it is the first time I hear him speak English, and I must say I am impressed. I have family and friends in France and know many French, but few master the English language as well as he does.
Refreshing dignified leadership. Stark contrast to our national nightmare.
ReplyDeleteI could almost weep with embarrassment some days over our country electing someone like DT.
DeleteMexico for me.
ReplyDeleteMexico would be nice, too.

ReplyDeleteFrance seems like a great place to live!

DeleteUk is doing the same and has been for a long time.
DeleteSorry, I suggested that France was alone in this. Of course it isn't.
DeleteSo long as you don't expect to get jobs when you arrive you'll be fine Jennifer.
ReplyDeleteNo job! Cool!

I did giggle a little at his pronunciation of "engineers"!
DeleteAdmirable and so presidential. I forgot what that sounds like.
ReplyDeleteMe too Mitch!
