Quick update...

I'm this close to having a new job. In fact, the school called yesterday to tell me that I'm their pick (!!!) ....the only hurdle left is that I'm waiting to hear from the HR department what salary they can offer me. I can't say yes until I have that crucial bit of information! I know that even the best case scenario is going to be a pay cut, but as long as it's not too drastic I'm going to go for it!

Please continue to send good vibes and positive thoughts my way for an offer I can live with... I really, really want to say YES to this job!

  1. I am so happy for you ! ! !
Hope the paid cut is not too bad but the peace of mind not working where you do will be worth it.

Oh my Goodness this is a great post to read right before I go to bed !
    Good Luck.

    cheers, parsnip

  2. Even if it will mean less money, I am sure it will be worth it - and who knows, maybe you'll get a raise after a certain time. Or, if all else fails and you really need more money, you could make a little extra by doing a few hours somewhere else.

  3. Good for you. Job satisfaction and development potential is more important than salary.

  5. Within reason, job satisfaction is so important, so I've been told. I've not had the experience.

  9. Very odd that the salary wasn't named at interview. Good luck from me too.

  10. This lazy blogger has seen this post from you and sends you lots of good vibes. (Even if you will take a pay cut, do try a little negotiating when you are offered the job. This has always worked for me...) xo

  11. I didn't get a call today, and the district office is closed on Fridays in the summer. It looks like I'll have to wait until Monday to get any further information. Sigh.

Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone. I'm ready to have everything settled so I can turn in my letter of resignation and start working through a two weeks' notice.

    1. You are keeping your adoring public on tenterhooks you naughty thing! To top up your pay you could volunteer to do occasional weekend shifts at the mall when they have staffing problems.
