Tomorrow's Coral

This past Sunday Gregg and I completed our latest home improvement project: we painted our main bathroom! We had trouble picking out a color because the tile on the walls and shower as well as the tile on the floor are kind of odd colors if you look closely.

Here's a before picture.

It's hard to see in the photo but the floor has some orange tints in it....so after lots of samples and lots of discussion, we decided on a  paint color called "Tomorrow's Coral".

I wasn't sure about it at first, but it's starting to grow on me. It's certainly cheerful!

What do you think?

  1. I like it! It's sort of a sherbet-y color.

    1. Sherbet--you're right! I hadn't thought of that.

  2. That's a nice makeover. I love how a coat of paint can make all the difference. Well done!

I like painting but I hate the clean up. It causes me to put it off as long as I can.

    1. Thanks to the fact that half the walls are tile, we only used half of a quart of paint! Good thing too, because it was expensive.

  3. I like it too. I think it complements the browns that are already in place. I know it is hard to pick out colors. I think you did a good job!

    1. Our bathroom was particularly hard to pick a color for. What's already there is...odd.

  4. I think it looks great! I would never call it coral, though. I think of coral as much more red. Who knows what these paint vendors are thinking. LOL

    1. From the Behr paint website: "Tomorrow's Coral is a light pink-orange with a touch of yellow — effusing an optimistic vibe."

  6. That brown sure made it challenging. You rose to it. Great color choice.

    1. The browns and the gray tiles all have odd colors in them if you look closely. It was SO hard finding a color! The old off-white walls looked bad, everything else made them look like they were stained with cigarette smoke. Just dingy looking.

    1. Thank you Ellen! We'd never painted a room before and were kind of nervous about it.

  9. Good choice, you need something to soften the wall tile.

    1. Now I'm considering painting our teeny tiny half bathroom the same color...we have paint left over! :)

  11. I think it was an excellent choice!!! Brightens it up while still not ignoring the tile but incorporating it. With some small art...lovely!

    1. The sad thing is, the bathroom had just been redone when we bought the house, so all the tile is relatively new. Sigh.
