So gorgeous! And what perfect shots you got! I've never seen either of those in real life.

So much patience and a steady hand is required to get pictures like this. Gorgeous!

Those are brilliant pictures, Jennifer! How did you manage to get the butterflies to pose for you while you got the camera ready? I never succeed when I try!

I took these photos with my phone camera. I just stood close to the flowers, with the camera zoomed in (so I didn't have to get too close) and the butterflies kept landing near me. They didn't seem to mind me taking pictures!

Thanks Spo!

Thank you Bob! Do you see these butterflies very often? I think they're fairly common here in SC.

As I told Meike in a comment below, I got these photos with my phone. The butterflies didn't seem to mind!

They really do lend an air of magic to the garden, just like the fireflies after dark.

I imagine you have lots of different species in Canada that I've never seen!

I wonder why?

Great pictures. Clearly those butterflies don't mind the heat!

Jennifer said...

Hasn't it been unseasonably cold? Maybe that's why?

Jennifer said...

Clearly they do not!

Great photos! Zinnias are a great flower to attract butterflies.
