I've very little time for blogging today, but I wanted to post an update on how my garden's coming along. Here are some photos I took over the last several days. xx
It looks all fabulous, Jennifer! You obviously do not only have green thumbs, but your entire hands are green :-) The rose is getting lovelier every time we see it.
It all looks so healthy Jennifer. I suspect that the inland South Carolina climate is probably very conducive to plant growing at this time of year. Keep up the great work!
The garden is looking lovely m’dear, do you happen to have the name of the rose in the last picture as I can picture it upon our small sitting area (still to be cleared ahem), oh and is perfumed perchance lass?
Yes! It's a David Austin English rose called Eustacia Vye. It should be readily available in the UK. This is the first flush of flowers from a bare root planted at the end of March!
They're supposed to have a wonderful scent, but since this plant is so young and these are the first flowers, they haven't developed a scent yet. I've read that's common when a rose is young. I'm looking forward to smelling it!
Everything's looking very lush and green. And oh, those beautiful roses!
