I let the marigolds run wild after the summer garden was finished, and the bees spent all day yesterday taking advantage of the late season blooms. Temperatures tonight are expected to drop below freezing, so it was probably their last chance to prepare for winter.
Yesterday was also my dear husband's birthday! We had a quiet day at home (the weather was glorious, like Indian Summer) with the dogs and Marco. I made all of Gregg's favorite foods, including banana pudding for dessert. I have plans to make him a pineapple upside-down cake too, but he requested that I wait until the banana pudding is finished.

Slightly belated birthday greetings to Gregg and applause for the bees. Happy Monday Jennifer!
A Happy Birthday to Gregg! Another fellow Scorpio I see. The marigold with the bees are beautiful! My garden is all but done with exception to a few things still going. I never tried it, but a floral friend of mine said if you snip the heads of the marigolds and bury them like bulbs, they will give new plants next year.
Happy Happy Birthday Greg! Enjoy the puddin'.
And thanks for the beautiful photos; glorious color.
The marigolds are lovely and one of my favorites. And yes, an arctic blast is on the way.
Happy bees on those gorgeous flowers, and happy birthday to your husband.
Fabulous pictures! Banana pudding sounds so good, but so does pineapple upside down cake. Gregg is a lucky man to be loved so deeply.
Hello Jennifer,
This does sound like a beautiful Sunday, bees are buzzing, marigolds are flowering and it is your husband's birthday. One can be led to believe that all is right with the world on days such as these when life's simple pleasures are appreciated and enjoyed.
Happy Birthday to Gregg!
Happy Birthday to Gregg! May he have a wonderful year of good health and fun adventures!
Happy Birthday to your husband! I think one dessert at the same time is a good decision.
Gorgeous photos! Thanks for leaving the flowers for the bees when you cleared the garden earlier.
A belated happy birthday to Gregg!
