Silly pet stories

This is my parrot, Marco.

Marco has a big personality despite his small size. He talks really well, and he loves to sing. Early on, I taught him a silly song with some slight modifications to fit him.

"Marco, Marco man...
He's gonna be....a Marco man!
Marco, Marco man....
He's gonna be...a Marco man!"

It's pretty funny to hear him if I do say so myself!

(I thought we could all use a laugh today...I hope this worked for you.)

    1. He's bold and considers himself the equal of any human or dog (he's grown up with Ginger).

  3. Hahaha that video was really funny, how did those guys manage to keep a straight face? (Most of the time)
Now you have to post a video of Marco singing his song so that we can compare!

    1. I would love to get a video of Marco singing or talking....but he refuses to cooperate when I try to capture one. Clams up and just stares at me like, "Your move, woman." Haha!

  4. Why should your loyal blog visitors believe that Marco can talk and sing? We need evidence Jennifer. Evidence. With patience you will be able to capture that evidence... unless of course you have made it all up!

    1. Sometimes when I'm leaving for work he says, "I'm sorry. I love you." Or else "Be a good bird, okay?" He says Gregg, Ginger, he tries to say George but hasn't mastered it, good morning, goodnight....and when Gregg was undergoing chemotherapy he learned to say, "Are you alright?" Oh, and his most used phrase is "Wanna come out...?" when he wants to be let out of his cage.

    1. He really is. The photos don't really do him justice. He's a male eclectus parrot.

  8. The question which is the more amusing, your tale of Marco or the film clip.

  9. As everyone has already said, we need to see a clip of Marco singing. Hidden camera?

  10. OK, those are definitely NOT the Village People... More like the "Town People" or maybe the "Hamlet People." And, yes, I'm laughing and am grateful. I would love to hear Marco sing.

  11. The power of this post continues...Marco is no one-day wonder bird. The red underwings must be amazing to see. Is he still learning new expressions?

    1. Yes, he learns new expressions sometimes, but not as often as when he was younger. He's trying hard to master the word "George"...the "juh" sound at the end gives him trouble!

    1. You know, he'll allow that sometimes be he has to be really sleepy, and sitting on your shoulder.

The best kind of affection to give Marco (when he's in the mood for it) is to burrow your nose and chin under his wings. It's all downy soft, warm, and smells nice.
