My book club Christmas party is only a week and a half away, so I'm also finalizing the menu for that. I'm excited to host for the first time, but I'll also be glad when it's all over. I'm nervous about having a dozen guests at once. That's a first for me.
How are your holiday plans shaping up? Are you excited, or dreading it all, or somewhere in between (like me)?

don't worry about commenting, you are busy and you have a life.
Yes. Like Anne Marie said- don't worry about commenting. It's okay.
As to Christmas? I'm in complete denial.
Period. The end.
Maybe tomorrow I'll drag in my Norfolk Island Pine and put my few beloved ornaments on it.
Or maybe I won't.
It will be perfect!
that all looks lovely.
I am so late with everything that I have told myself what happens happens and what get done is OK !
I was planning on everything be done by now and I just enjoying Christmas. But. . . . . . .
Do Not Worry about commenting just take care and enjoy. We will all catch up after Christmas !
Your home looks lovely.
parsnip
It all looks so beautiful.
Your Xmas decorations look beautiful.
Usually, by this time, I have written and sent all my Christmas cards, and the parcels to my Yorkshire family are on their way. This year, I have only started to write cards on Saturday and am nowhere near finished. Work has been unusually busy this year, and will continue so until the 20th, which will be my last working day of 2019!
I am looking forward to all the wonderful things still in store, such as a two birthday parties, two concerts, Christmas Eve with my family, Christmas Day with O.K.'s family, and much more.
Your tree looks so good - I love the disco ball!!
I am behind in everything. Not panicking yet, but know that is coming.
Your house is lovely and I am sure your party will be a wonderful time for you and your guests.
So beautiful. I love those ornaments! Some baking soon to be done. (I'm simply clean-up assistant.) Other than that, no big plans.
I love Christmas and I'm looking forward to it, only because it is still far enough away that I don't feel oppressed by all the things left to get done. It will all work out. Your tree is very pretty.
Well, your decorating has certainly put us to shame! Looks great!
Who is that little cowboy on your tree? Santa had better watch out or Little Cowboy will shoot his fat ass! (I am learning to talk American)
I'm decorating, but I do so because it cheers me up. I love the little twinkling lights. I have no holiday plans. I hope yours bring you great joy and no stress.
Love,
Janie
That's Ralphie from Christmas Story of course!
I love little twinkling lights, too. We don't have any real plans, either, beyond my book club party next week.
Thanks Steve! It's really not all that much.
Thank you Colette. I left a few ornaments off this year; last year it was stuffed with them and I wanted it to be a little simpler this time.
I sure hope the party goes well! I've been stressing out a little about it and I'll be glad when the day comes and everything is finished and ready for the guests.
I have several of those disco ball ornaments! I love them. They're remnants of my time at Pier 1 Imports (they have the best ornaments!)
I didn't go too crazy with the decorations this year....I don't want to dread taking it all back down!
Thank you Dr. Spo! :)
I just finally bought a box of cards but I haven't written or sent the first one yet. It's going to be a last minute thing, I'm afraid. Oh well....Christmas has 12 days, right? :)
I love lots of lights in the house this time of year.
Oh, I so hope that's true! I want to spoil my friends and show them how much I care. My husband thinks I'm probably doing too much (food wise) but I can't help myself!
We're lucky in that we have very few people to shop for: no kids, no grandkids, etc. Gregg's parents are both gone now and we don't exchange gifts with his siblings. I will buy a couple of small things for my parents (we've never done big expensive holidays which I'm grateful for) and then I'll buy a few random kids presents....my friend's little girl, my coworker's small son, a foster child the office is sponsoring this Christmas....but none of that causes me any stress and it's not expensive.
Rock on, Anne Marie! I like your style. :) I'm sure you're going to have a stress free, enjoyable holiday.
Ralphie from Christmas Story, that is my favorite Christmas movie. I have an ornament of the Leg Lamp. At this moment I am in good shape with Christmas preparations and get togethers. Your home looks very cheery.
