A wish came true!

Little P. got his wish!  Last night we got between 2 and 3 inches of snow. Here are some photos from early this morning, before everything started to melt. Probably half of the snow is still hanging on, and it's going to be 17 degrees tonight, so we'll still have a little bit left through tomorrow afternoon. At 8am this morning, though, everything was still pristine.

This first one was taken from my front door around midnight last night, shortly after the ice started transitioning to snow. (The bright orb is a streetlight).

Of course, we went out for a walk with George first thing. We devised a new sweater for him to keep him warm.

This is how Gregg's truck looked when we first went outside. There's only room in the garage for one car, so the old work truck has to stay out in the elements.

It was a treat to finally see snow at the "new" house. It only took three years!

Marco surveyed the scene from the warmth of the house. I'm not sure what he thought of it all. He's seen snow before, but it's been a while.

Snow day 2022!

  1. That's a beautiful snow! I'm so glad Little P. got his wish. I bet he had fun playing in it. I remember snow days when I lived in the South, they are pretty special!

  2. Lovely, especially the shadows made by the crepe myrtles, and the blue sky, and George's nose!
Marco looked like Tuxedo, our cat; he liked looking at the snow but wasn't keen on going out in it!

  7. YAY!!!!!!! I know many people hate winter and snow, but I love it. The air and sky is never more fresh and pristine then after a good snow...it's "feels" so clean. And it does just that. Snow does filter the air. And it's amazing when you snap pictures at night. The pictures look as if taken in the day right? You got some excellent pictures. I love the one with the trees casting the shadows into the yard....and of course of the cutie George. Im glad the Snow Queen visited.

  8. Someone had better send Little P to Japan quickly. I hear they have no snow for The Winter Olympics.

  11. Yes!!! All of Little P‘s measures worked 😊
Snow really suits your house, it looks beautiful and cosy.
Here, it‘s just grey, wet and (on the fields) muddy.

  14. I love the second photo, with those long tree shadows. I'm sure Little P was thrilled! And good job on George's makeshift sweater. :)

  15. I love a good snow day as well. Even though I long for spring most days of the winter, I'm always entranced with a big snowfall. We currently have 55 cm of snow piled up on our yard.

  16. Love the trees reflecting in the snow! The blue sky is also beautiful. We've had lots of fog lately--dispiriting and gloomy!
