Last day

My last couple of days at the middle school were somewhat anticlimactic. I felt only relief this afternoon when I turned in my keys and left for the last time.

I'm grateful for the six years I spent there, and even more grateful to be moving on to something better.

  1. Last days always feel weird and surreal, especially now that you're leaving.

    1. I ended up spending the last couple of days in an empty office with nothing to do. It was a relief to finish!

  7. When I left after more than 8 years on a job that I liked as such, but which was VERY stressful (and totally underpaid), I felt torn between not wanting to leave something I know so well, and excitement about the new job.
In your case, you have more than enough reason to look forward to the new chapter in your life - but first, some well-deserved rest! Lots of gardening, I expect :-)

    1. Yes, I'll be spending lots of time outside and in the garden. I'd love to take some day trips, but it looks like we'll be putting a new roof on our house this month.......so no spending money for me this summer!

    2. Two weeks will fly by! And your summer will be longer than mine. I go back July 10th.

  12. Wow. Jennifer, you have come a long, long way. Like Steve, I remember when you were working at the book store, wanting so badly to move on from there. And the past six years have been true learning experiences in so many ways. You're going to shine in that new school! But meanwhile- enjoy your days at home.

    1. Thank you Mary! I'm very grateful for my years at Sneed, because not only did it get my foot in the door with the district, but I learned a whole lot. And the first three or four years were great. I have a very good feeling about my new school!

  13. Jennifer! Congratulations on your new job. I just went back and read all of your old posts to catch up. I am afraid I have been negligent about checking blogs the last month as I have been gearing up for my final days as well. Best wishes for success in your new job, and have a restful summer!
