I have always said he may not have been the greatest President but he is clearly the greatest ex-president ever. Decent human being. Happy birthday, Mr. President.
Jimmy Carter is truly a decent person who has done a lot of good things in his life, especially once he left the presidency. It looks like he'll be able to cast his vote for the first woman president!
Most of what I know about him is from reading blogs such as yours, Jennifer. He was POTUS during my childhood, and often appeared on the news we watched on TV as a family before it was time to go to bed. So in a way, he was always there, even if he was never my president.
I was too young when he was president to remember it (I think I have a vague memory of seeing him on TV one time). His humanitarian work around the world since he left office has been an example to the world. That, combined with his gentleness, kindness, and humility make him a great man. He's a credit to America.
He says his goal is to live long enough to vote for Kamala Harris for President.
ReplyDeleteI hope he makes it, and I hope he gets to see her win. After that he can go join his beloved wife. He's earned his rest. ♡

ReplyDeleteDecent human being.
Happy birthday, Mr. President.
He's done so much good for the world.
DeleteHe is quite something!!! And he said he wanted to live long enough to cast his vote for a winning lady president! Looks like he may get his wish.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping he does!
DeleteGreatness is so quiet because it does not need to speak loudly.
ReplyDeleteTruth!
DeleteHe's great!
ReplyDeleteI think so too.
DeleteBless him. Just bless that sweet soul.
ReplyDeleteYes. This.

ReplyDeleteIsn't that something?!
DeleteHappy birthday Mr. President. He sounds like a lovely human being.
ReplyDeleteHe really is. He's better than we deserve a lot of the time.

DeleteHe is such a sweet man.
ReplyDeleteAnd a good man.
DeleteI so hope he meets his goal to vote for Harris. A man who became greater after his presidency.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Mitchell. And you're right.
DeleteThe very antithesis of #45.
ReplyDeleteI think he is probably the best all-around person to ever hold the presidency, even if he wasn't (in many people's eyes) the best president.
