I think Daylight Savings Time is ridiculous and I hate it. Why on earth do we still do this? Maybe it had some value in the past, but I can't think of a good reason to keep it up in this day and age. I've felt "off" all week and it's been really hard to wake up in the morning. Then there's all the clocks that have to be changed--what a pain! I wish we could pick a time and leave it alone already.
You know who hasn't had to drag themselves out of bed an hour earlier and trudge off to work in the (still) dark of night this week?
These two bums:
I snapped these photos right before leaving Monday morning. Don't they look cozy and comfortable? No lost hour of sleep for them!
I agree 100%. Pick a time and keep it!!!!

DeleteI don't know why they don't!
They sure do look nice and comfy! Um Jennifer... last night I was talking to my friend Di and saying the exact same thing. Why do my days still feel off? Honestly, when are they going to stop this sh-t!
ReplyDeleteSeriously! It's ridiculous!
DeleteWe need standard time!
ReplyDeleteThat would be my preference...standard time all year.
DeleteI agree 100%. I HATE DST and that's from someone who lives far north but prefers Standard Time. It stays light way too late here in the summer and totally throws off my body clock.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. The days were already getting much longer anyway. That extra hour of daylight is silly.
DeleteI bet they're both wondering why their dinner is an hour late, though!
ReplyDeleteYou know it! Ha!
DeleteDST has been around since 1918 so I doubt very much if they're going to get rid of it, if anything, they might make it permanent.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it made sense in 1918!
Deletewe in Arizona don't do no stinkin DST but 2x a year I have to remember what time is it everywhere else.
ReplyDeleteThat's another thing...everyone doing their own thing is confusing. We need one time for the whole country.
DeleteI feel off this week, too, and I hate it. Your puppies look so sweet and snuggly. Princess and Penelope aren't bothered by clocks either.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
My puppies love to sleep in, especially when the weather is bad. Poppy gets in bed with us and snuggles.
DeleteI agree with you about 'daylight saving'. Why can't they just leave things alone?
ReplyDeleteAmen!
DeleteAh, it’s a dog’s life. We 3 weeks behind with clock-changing this time of year, which makes calls to the States very confusing. I’m an hour off with Chuck every week. about a month ago, we scheduled a FaceTime call with friends in Boston for 7 p.m. our time, which was convenient for us. Then the clocks changed and we’ll be seeing them at 6, which is not so convenient. But slotting a time with them is like pulling teeth, so we don’t dare ask them to change it or we won’t see them until May.
ReplyDeleteOh god, I can't even imagine trying to coordinate Facetime from Spain with the US and our nutty time changes!
DeleteI'm with you 100% re changing the clocks. There are no noticeable advantages but plenty of disadvantages.
ReplyDeleteThe kids and staff at the school have been sleepy and grumpy all week. So it's not just me!
DeleteI agree with you too. I just don't understand the need to do it. Being retired, it isn't so much of an issue, but for the workers of the world, this week stinks. Shirley didn't mind the time change at all, just like George and Poppy!
ReplyDeleteOur dogs have it made! No worries in the world! :)
DeleteOur cats don't get it either. That bugs me.
ReplyDeleteIt is stupid.
ReplyDeleteReally stupid.
DeleteIsn't it strange how really everybody says the same about this changing of the clocks, and yet our governments still keep it up? Apparently, some years back there was a EU-wide poll about it - not widely publicised (I wonder why not!!), and the outcome was a clear majority for NOT changing the clocks... but nothing has changed since.
ReplyDeleteOur change to "summertime" will happen a bit later, always the last Sunday in March.
PS: How is Gregg?
DeleteGregg's okay. He had a CT scan yesterday to see if the radiation was successful, but we won't know the results until his oncology appointment on the 24th of this month. So we're still waiting to see.
DeleteAdorable photos! I agree about Daylight Saving Time. It IS an outdated idea. I've heard parents argue that they don't want their kids waiting for the school bus in the dark, and if changing the time avoids that then MAYBE that's a reasonable argument. Does it solve that problem where you are, in spring or fall?
ReplyDeleteSteve, it CREATED the problem this week. It was starting to be daylight when our kids got to school (between 7am-7:45am) and now it's pitch dark at that time.
DeleteHow can you call those two handsome beasts 'bums' I expect they know its a term of endearment and love you even more And the hour gives us longer evenings in summer, to enjoy sitting in the garden after a hard days work, except my husband and I are retired and what ever we're doing we stop early afternoon, a perk of retirement!
