Slim pickings and a question

Here are some of the scant handfuls of veggies I've managed to harvest from this year's struggling summer garden. Not pictured: a quart size Ziplock full of green beans and a couple more cucumbers (they're in the refrigerator). Sadly, these photos are the sum total of my tomato production so far.

I got exactly one Black Sea Man tomato before all three of the plants got a disease and died. It had a nice flavor, but still....one is just enough to be a tease.

I did slice it thin and tried to make a nice presentation of it. :)

Finally, I have a question for all you vegetable gardeners out there. I bought a 4-pack of what was supposed to be yellow crookneck squash plants at Lowe's a couple of months ago. I'm not sure what these are, but they're decidedly NOT yellow crookneck squash!

Can anyone identify this for me? Please and thank you!

Acorn squash.

I concur with Ms. Moon. The last time I grew tomatoes, they got blight. It was discouraging after all the work and watering I'd put in so I gave up. I hope my friends grow some though because there's nothing better than a homegrown tomato. :)

Yup, acorn. Good cut in half with the seeds scooped out, a bit of olive oil and microwave til tender.
