I might be slightly traumatized

I woke up yesterday morning from a dream where I was at work, talking to my boss, and my teeth were crumbling to pieces in my mouth. I kept having to spit them out. (Ugh!)

My boss didn't seem to notice and kept talking to me as if nothing was amiss. It was all slightly horrific.

No more trips to the dentist for me anytime soon! And I
think it's past time for a good long vacation.

What do you think?

  1. I think you were spitting out the last remains of your dental problems. Sounds like a classic release to me!

  4. Vacation sounds good!! I have never had a similar dream, but I remember my late husband often dreaming he was losing his teeth. He interpreted it as a classic symptom for fear of loss, in his case, of losing me. Well, it turned out the other way round.

  5. I've read that dreams of tooth loss are very common and have a deeper, metaphorical meaning. Like flying dreams, everyone supposedly has them! If you're into dream interpretation you could probably Google it.

  6. Yes. I think that you and Gregg deserve a nice holiday. Why not that drive up to Canada that I suggested before? By the way, I lost a tooth yesterday - a porcelain crown that I had put in in February. The dentist assured me it would be as solid as a rock - stronger than my natural teeth! I am peed off but not in pain. It cost me $250 to have put in.

  7. I go to the dentist regularly but always with trepidation. I often wonder why one would want to be a dentist, a lawyer, or a mortician. All of them can give you nightmares.

Loosing teeth is a common dream

  10. I've heard dreams of dental distress are often caused by anxiety. The few times I've had them, that seemed to ring true.

  12. I used to have dreams of losing teeth but that no longer happens. Reading John Gray's comment, I must have lost my fear of growing old....
Yes, of course you should have a vacation. I think that's a wonderful idea.

  13. I've often had that dream of all my teeth falling out. Just a typical insecurity/anxiety dream I guess.
