In like a lamb.

Despite a couple of chilly nights, March has begun with some gorgeous spring weather. I won't be surprised if we get one last freeze before the month is out, though.

I'm not the only one who loves warm, sunny days...

Basking in the warm sun at midday!
Here are some more early March photos from our backyard.

The blueberries are in flower.

The dogwood tree is beginning to bloom.

The best part about this time of year is how quickly we're  gaining daylight. The days are notably longer now. This final photo was taken at 6pm today.

  1. After an unusually cold January, we had record-breaking highs during February. I had to turn on the air conditioning. We're back to cooler weather now with lots of sunshine.

    Love,
    Janie

  2. Isn't it beautiful? I would be so happy if the temperatures were like this all year round. Lovely sun warm in the daytime, cool enough to snuggle under covers at night. Perfection.

  6. Envy is what I'm feeling. We still have more than a foot of snow on the ground here in northern Wisconsin. Only two seasons for us here..... Winter. And 3-months-of-bad-sledding.

    1. That much winter must get really old! But check back here around the first of July. I'll be complaining bitterly about the awful heat! :)

  7. It's been nice here too, with temps up to 15 C. We have just ONE daffodil flowering, the others are all just leaves. We'll have to have words with them.

  8. It will take a while before blossoms will appear on our trees, and the daffodils and tulips are still weeks away, too, but we are getting there, that's for sure!
I love it that there is still daylight by the time I leave the office. It makes me less prone to just go home and do NOTHING.

    1. Same here, Meike. I've been much more active and productive in the afternoons now that the days are longer.

  9. So beautiful. Our March has come in like a lion... but our lion is much less fierce than yours anyway.

  10. George appears to be smiling. I think he should hook up with smiley Olga in West London. They could make beautiful springtime music together.

    1. Olga would love George, I think! Alas, though, there would be no smiley puppies, as Olga has been fixed.

    2. George would love Olga too but in a purely platonic way....he got snipped early. Oh, the smiley puppies they could have had, though...! Sigh.
