A walk in the woods
Yesterday Gregg and I took advantage of the day off together and the beautiful weather and took the dogs for a walk in the woods around Jeffries Creek park here on Florence. Spring is in full swing down there. We saw pond turtles, ducks, and (luckily) no snakes!

OMB, you have things blooming! not so here; we had snow yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYou should see the masses of hot pink azaleas and the drifts of dogwood flowers all over my neighborhood! There's color everywhere you look.

The trails are kind of swampy. When it gets a little bit warmer, the mosquitoes and snakes will be an issue. It IS a nice park though, mostly because it's still half wild.

ReplyDeleteWe once saw a beaver there! The wildlife is wonderful down there, and it's less than 2 miles from our house.

This area is prettier in spring than in any other season.
DeleteI so love the scent of wisteria! There is one growing on the facade of an office building I often walk past, and I always make sure to breathe deeply when it blooms (which won't happen here for at least another month).
