My favorite Christmas card

My 6 year old friend Little P. made me a Christmas card yesterday afternoon, and it's my favorite, hands down.

His momma laughed and laughed at the fact that he made Santa black like him. :) I think it's awesome!

I just love that kid.

Why shouldn't Santa be black? Makes as much sense as a white Santa.
That's a great card! I bet you do love that little guy.

I absolutely agree! I thought it was charming and his mom thought it was hilarious. It's nice when black and white folks can laugh together at the absurdity of racism.

Santa should be whatever you want. Santa is a feeling.
Darling child.

It's delightful but I thought, at first, the head was a Christmas pudding!

And, of course, for black children, Santa IS black. And rightly so!

If Little P. were my friend, this would be my favourite Christmas card, too - no question about it!
Historically, the man behind the Santa legend was from Turkey, as you know of course; so it is improbable that his skin was darker than that of the average Turkish person. But I agree with all the others here - Santa is anything to anyone, as long as you believe in him!

I like the way that Little P ran out of space with the word "Christmas" and had to squeeze it at the end - dropping the "s" to the line below.
