At least the sun came out

I woke up today feeling like I'm coming down with a cold or some other funk. I have a sore throat, runny nose, headache, and some slight body aches.

After a few Motrin and a couple of cups of hot, strong coffee I feel as if I can manage my night at work. I wish I could call in sick but there's no other manager who could easily close the store for me. I'll just have to tough it out.

At least the rain cleared overnight and the weather is nice. It's a pretty day outside.

George loves a sunny day.

Have a good weekend, friends.

  1. Poor you! I hope the shift at work wasn't/isn't too hard on you on top of your cold symptoms.
It does make a difference, doesn't it, when it's sunny outside! Although I must admit it somehow makes me feel even worse when I'm unwell and it is a beautiful day - I feel as if I'm missing out on something then, whereas I have no trouble staying home, wrapped up in a woolly blanket, when it is grey and cold and wet out there.

    1. Yesterday's chilly rain was just awful! I'm glad I didn't have to go out in rain while feeling bad today.

  2. Work is a very overrated concept. Much better to take lovely photos of autumn leaves against a cobalt blue sky.

    1. Thank you. I hate being sick. I felt absurdly close to tears when I finally made it home tonight. :(

    2. I can understand that feeling, crying out of pain and the relief of being home.

  6. Winter just started over here in Europe. Snow has fallen in the UK, and here in France we have rain and lower temperatures. I feel like hibernating. Hope your cold is short-lived; nothing worse than a lingering cold.

    1. I just finished my shift at work, got home, and crawled in bed. I'm typing this out on my phone under the covers. I feel awful. If I don't improve by tomorrow they can forget about seeing me at work. I can't take another night like this!
