The lost pin-up girl

Recently some photos have resurfaced on the internet of the work of Duane Bryers, an artist in the 1950's who created the delightfully plus size, redheaded pin-up girl Hilda. These photos made me smile and I hope you enjoy them, too.

I agree that "real people" need to come back. Hilda looks so happy and comfortable in her own skin. That's what I love about her!

I wonder who the 'real' Hilda was; his wife maybe? Sexy lady.

Hilda was my mother's name...

Was she a redhead?

Apparently she was a mostly made-up lady, not someone he actually knew. I also read last night that he recently died at the grand old age of 101!

I think she's adorable, too!

She definitely looks like a "real woman". I like it!

Me too! And I really dislike ironing!

I think I've seen a couple of these, or something similar. They do look familiar. It's a neat little piece of Americana..and I agree with the previous comments. We need more curvy pinup girls!

I hate to say it, but Hilda looks vaguely familiar. Perhaps I'm older than I thought...
