If Santa has made his list this year, and checked it twice, I have a feeling that somebody I know is on the "naughty" list.

In fact, he told me so himself. In that last picture when he was on my shoulder (and being pretty sweet for once) I said, "Marco, you're a good boy!" and after a two second pause he said, "He's a BAAAAAAD bird!"

Marco has a kindred spirit. Reminded me of my 1st grader GS yesterday. We've been virtual schooling together since August. His teacher sent a fun "elf" paper with a list of silly questions as to whether the kiddies would make good elf helpers for Santa. I was standing next to him reading the questions out loud to him. One asked if he liked Christmas music. Initially, he answered NO, but then changed it to yes, because he said it would make his music teacher sad if he said no (which was very sweet--as he really doesn't like his music class). However, the next one asked the proverbial question: Have you been naughty or nice? The look he threw me over his shoulder had us both breaking down in hysterics as we've had more than a few battles over his school work. At first he circled nice and looked up at me. I smiled (okay--I smirked). Then he finally faced up to reality without me saying anything and changed it to naughty. We both laughed. We needed that. ;)

Unfortunately Santa wasn't visiting anyone this year as he's self-isolating - one of the elves tested positive for covid. So even if Marco had been perfectly behaved all year, he would still have missed out. Sorry, Marco!
