4:30 pm...So it's finally happened. I have Covid.
Well, today was a shorter day than I expected.
Yesterday and last night I started feeling a tickle in my throat and a mild headache. Then I woke up throughout the night with body aches. When I got to work this morning the body aches got worse. Just to be on the safe side, I had the school nurse take my temperature. I really didn't think I was running a fever, plus I'd taken Motrin earlier for the aches.
But I was running a fever, despite the Motrin.
The nurse thought I should probably head home, since fever is a sign that someone is contagious. I was so disappointed to miss the holiday party!
And it's just my luck that I'm getting sick at the start of my break.
Oh no! I hope this is a quick thing and that you'll be over it soon. I have had some sort of cold thing going on myself, but no temperature. Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteCrap. Sounds like how things go around here. Did the nurse check for Covid? There's so much respiratory stuff going around right now. Feel better. Hope this 'thing' is gone by Christmas and it's just a quickie.
ReplyDeleteParanormal John
It's the season of the nasty cold and fever. I still wear the mask when out and keep away from crowds. It helps. Feel well soon!
ReplyDeleteHow sad to miss the end of term party in a workplace where you have been so happy! Like Michael (above), I am hoping that whatever you have got vanishes in the next day or two.
ReplyDeleteOh no, poor you! Still, it may be some consolation that the break means nobody will put a pile of work on your desk while you're not there.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
Here, people are on sick leave left, right and centre. Covid is running high, too; my Mum spent all evening with a group of ex colleagues the other day and one of them texted her to say she's tested positive. Thankfully, my Mum hasn't caught it this time.
Oh, sweetie. That just purely sucks. Get in bed with some hot tea and cozy blankets.
ReplyDeleteIt's going around! Feel better!
ReplyDeleteRest, hydrate, extra vitamin C, repeat, repeat, repeat. Hope you recover quickly and can truly enjoy your break.
ReplyDeleteIt is just the worst to be ill at the beginning of time away from work, I think that should be illegal! I hope you are well quickly and that you do not share that with Gregg.
ReplyDeleteCovid sux! I hope you get over it soon. Missing the Christmas party sux too!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a speedy recovery Jennifer.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fast turnaround and feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear this. Hopefully you have a mild version of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear and know covid is going around. I hope my vaccinations are sufficient. You rest up and get well.
ReplyDeleteOh no! What a start to your holiday. I hope Greg doesn't get it!
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry the bug finally got you—-and just when you (we) were about to discover your secret Santas!
ReplyDeleteRest and recover, the world can wait.
Oh no, it's awful to be sick on your break! I hope you have a mild case and feel better soon. Rest and take care!
ReplyDeleteAs everyone else says I hope it is short lived and not too bad.
ReplyDeleteI have two grandsons with us who both recently had Covid. It affected them very little and they were past it within days. I just hope that over on your side of the pond that it's a similar strain, and that, you too, won't suffer too long.
ReplyDeleteOne would think it would have more consideration and not hit just in time for your break from work. Feel better fast!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Well do take good care and probably better to have it now getting out of the way and an office party.. then to not be able to enjoy Christmas with your family and loved ones. And take it easy.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear, Jennifer. I just got over Covid and I recommend you contact your doctor for an anti-viral med as I think that really helped me recover. Also, Cepacol cough drops, a humidifier in the bedroom, and a decongestant also were very helpful. Rest, relax and recover soon!
ReplyDeleteI tried to comment on this yesterday but I think it didn't work. In any case, SORRY about the Covid! Argh! Please take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you realized and headed home BEFORE the party. Best wishes for a quick recovery. Go slow and easy.
ReplyDeleteHell's bells! Horrible Covid strikes again and the timing could not be worse. I hope you have only a mild case and recover quickly.
ReplyDeleteOh darn, Jennifer. Take care and feel better really soon.
