Powerful video. Trump's mother came from The Isle of Lewis in Scotland. His wife came from Slovenia. Later her parents were brought over to the USA. America would be nothing without the benefits of immigrant labour. Yet Trump and his mean gang are so down on immigrants - laughing about them being eaten by alligators near the new concentration camp in Florida.
I think many of us don't feel there's much that warrants a Celebration this Year. I heard the Concentration Camp in Florida flooded, if that's any consolation, mebbe Mother Nature will just tear it down for it's intrusion into her Natural Splendor, we can only Hope it gets taken out by Natural Forces BEFORE they pack it with Victims!!!
Thanks for sharing that video. We are certainly living in some disheartening times. I don't very much feel like celebrating today. We are a nation of immigrants and people seem to forget that.
And furthermore- it's not just what immigrants DO for us, it's the fact that they are human beings and as such, they deserve the respect and dignity that every human on earth does.
I am so sick of hearing the word 'immigrant'/illegal aliens. They are people. Slapping a label on them allows them to be written off as something less than human, and it is sickening how many 'Mericans are willing to hide behind their Bibles and crucifixes and do just that.
This is genius and their families come to the USA from all over the world. Every American is an immigrant except the Native ones.
ReplyDeleteWe rely SO much on the hard work of immigrants in this country, and to think how they're currently being treated...it's heartbreaking.

ReplyDeleteThey're only really down on immigrants who aren't white.

ReplyDeleteThey don't forget, it's just that the only type of immigrants they care about are the white ones.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
Deletewe are all immigrants- unless of course one is first nation...Clearly it is about brown folks and racist bastards. Call it what it is.
ReplyDeleteExactly! It's nothing but racism.

ReplyDeleteIt is sickening, Debby. And there's no hate like Christian "love".
DeleteThey all deserve a chance just like my ancestors got the chance when they came here from Ireland, Italy, and Poland...
ReplyDeleteYes. Immigrants make us better and stronger as a country!
