Yesterday afternoon Poppy caught a glimpse of our neighbor dog, Alvin, getting a walk past our house. She went nuts, leaping around and barking and racing from window to window to try to get another glimpse of him.
George woke up from a nap and joined in the hubbub even though I don't think he even knew what he was barking at. It was chaos for a minute!
And in the midst of all this noise, Marco watched calmly from the top of his perch, and then finally said:
"WHAT THE FUCK?"

LOLOLOLOL. You have made my afternoon!
Love that; every house needs a Marco.
That was great. Well played, Marco!
Ha! Marco clearly knows what to say when there's been a commotion!
Love Marco! Straight to the point.
Xoxo
Barbara
She's in puppy love!!!! She just had to see her boyfriend.
And I WONDER where Marco learned that???
Oh, Marco . . . LANGUAGE! hahahahaha
I almost spit out my coffee when I got to the end here! Too damn funny! 😅
Oh, Marco! i would have said the same.
Hahaha :-D Thanks for giving me the first hearty laugh of the morning (it is 8:02 am as I am typing this)!
Alvin was probably completely unaware of his every move being followed so closely.
Brilliant Marco! Who taught him that?
Well said, Marco! 🦜
That bird is a mess!
We're rarely bored, I'll say that.
Crazy bird.
The really funny part is Gregg said, "Did he just say..." and before I could answer Marco REPEATED IT. I busted out laughing and Gregg said, "Watch out, better not encourage him!"
Every once in a while, he nails the timing and it's pretty funny!
Alvin is a cocky little terrier type with short legs and a BIG attitude. It's so funny to see him strut by two or three times a day.
I know, right?
Glad we gave you a laugh!
Yep. He's a little man in a bird's body!
So you're 6 hours ahead of me. :) I'm just now drinking coffee and getting ready to head to work. I'm glad you got a good laugh.
This will make you laugh, too. I just looked over at Marco and said, "Hey bud, you made my friend in Germany laugh" and he said, "I know." HA!
We never intentionally taught him to say anything (much less the f-bomb!) but he's almost 18 years old and he's got a GREAT memory. So..
Every now and then he really nails the moment! haha.
What a smart bird Marco is! Great story, Jennifer!
Who taught Marco to say that? Surely it won't have been Gregg as he is a well-mannered gentleman so mmm... who could it have been?
Oh, we have years' worth of Marco stories!
He must pick it up from watching too much tv. :)
Howie usually ignores the neighborhood dogs, it's the FedEx, UPS, and a variety of other trucks passing in front of the house that grab his interest.
Oh my gosh, I laughed out loud at Marco’s reaction
That is hysterical. I once read a story about a woman who was preparing to host a dinner party, and as she prepared, she began to stress and in a moment of frustration, she blurted some unfortunate words. A couple hours later her guests began to arrive. As the house got livelier, her parrot responded by blurting those same unfortunate words over and over and over. Everyone politely pretended not to hear/understand the bird, but finally the hostess stashed her bird in another room.
